About the Institute
The Indian Institutes of Management are synonymous with excellence in the field of management education not only within the country, but worldwide, and IIM graduates are much sought-after in the national and international job market.
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, the fifth IIM in the country, has carved a niche for itself within its short span of operation. Established in 1996 by the Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Kerala, it aims to provide education, training, consulting and research facilities in management. The Institute began its Post Graduate Program in September 1997.
The Institute distinguishes itself not only with its superior curriculum, which forms but one component for learning and professional growth, but also with its blend of information, concepts, intellectual resources and infrastructure. IIMK shapes the individual to strive for excellence through fair means and without making ethical compromises.
In the year 2001, IIMK conceived a new model of management education for working executives. EMEP program marked the beginning of IIMK’s Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) activities and IIMK pioneered management education through a synchronous interactive learning mode in the Asia Pacific region. Currently IIMK offers a year long general management program (EMEP) and 4 function-specific 6 month programs in marketing, finance, operations and strategy for working executives through the satellite-based technology.
